Midfielder Ben Larson of Missoula, Mont., and Sentinel HS has become the first signee by new Multnomah men's soccer coach Dalon Parker for 2018.
Montanan Ben Larson First Signee for New Multnomah Men’s Soccer Coach Parker
PORTLAND, Ore. –
Dalon Parker, the new men's soccer coach at Multnomah University, has announced his first signee for the upcoming 2018 fall season with the addition of Ben Larson, a midfielder from Missoula, Mont., to the Lions' program, which will be entering its fifth season of intercollegiate competition.
Larson competes for Sentinel High School under coach Dan Lochridge and for the Missoula Strikers club team under coach Geoff Birnbaum. He has served as team captain for the Strikers for five years, and was the captain of his high school time during his senior season. He was named the Player of the Year for his high school team this past fall as well as earning First Team All-State honors. He is also a three-time Academic All-State honoree.
"I chose Multnomah because I absolutely love Portland," said Larson at his signing, "and I want to be a part of the young program there with the hope of getting lots of in-game experience as a freshman, and the opportunity of helping build the team at Multnomah into something greater."
"Ben is a great addition to our program," says Parker. "His character and ability to be a strong leader complements his soccer ability. We are very excited to have Ben join the MU soccer family and help make the university and the program a better place."
Multnomah, a non-denominational evangelical Christian college with its main campus in Portland and a branch campus in Reno, Nev., competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Lions are now in their third year as members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
