Mounties Defeat Evergreen to End Perfect Weekend at Quinn Coliseum 2/3/2018 11:51:35 PM LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon men's basketball team won their second game of the weekend at Quinn Coliseum 95-77 over Evergreen State College to improve their record to 20-4 and 12-4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The Mounties gained the lead a minute in to the game and never lost it, as head coach Carlito Labarda Jr. used all 15 of his players to after last night's double overtime victory. Sophomore guard Max McCullough was the leading scorer with 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting, as senior wing Austin Winegar dropped 22 points. Dustin Meade was the leading scorer for Evergreen with 21 points on 9-for 15 shooting while Ryan Quigley supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Blue and Gold was efficient in the offense, as they shot 50% in the game, and 46% from behind the three point line. The Mounties started the game quick despite being tired after Friday's double overtime win, shooting 51% from the field in the first half while keeping their opponent under control on the defensive end, as Evergreen was held to 29 points in the first half. The second half was closer, but the Mounties were still in the driver's seat, as they outscored an improved Evergreen offense 53-48 to win the game 95-77.
