Raiders Revenge Loss to Wolves

College Place, Wash. – The Raiders revenged yesterday's loss to Walla Walla with a 90-68 victory.  

Southern Oregon had the first points of the game with a layup from Kenny Meyer, but Jacob Vargas quickly followed with a jumper. It was a back and forth battle for the first seven minutes of the game before the Raiders' Conor Carroll and Kenny Meyer had back to back layups. With ten minutes left Southern Oregon went on a nine-point run with two three-pointers from Carroll and one from Tate Hoffman to go up 25-16. With eight minutes left Michael Isotalo had a three-pointer followed by a layup by Jacob Vargas, that put Walla Walla within seven. Back to back three-pointers from Ben DeSauliner with three minutes left gave the Raiders an eleven point lead. Walla Walla battled back with five points from Dylan Browning and a layup by Wesley Burke putting the Wolves within four points,  38-34 with two minutes left. A three-pointer by Jordan Hunt gave the Raiders a seven-point lead going into the half, 41-34.
 
Two free-throws from Michael Isotalo and a three-pointer from Alec Calloway brought Walla Walla within two, 41-39. The Raiders quickly expanded the gap with a layup from Aaron Borich and two back to back three-pointers from DeSauliner to take a back a double-digit lead. With fifteen minutes left Isotalo hit a three-pointer and the Wolves were down by nine, 56-45. The Raiders had a six-point run and were up 70-56 with five minutes left on the clock. Southern Oregon continued to soar above the Wolves in the last two minutes, with a three-pointer from Borich followed by a dunk by Hunt to finish the game 90-68.
 
The Raiders went 33 out of 65 from the field and were led by Ben DeSaulnier with 26 points, Jordan Hunt with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Conor Carroll with 15 points. The Wolves were led by Wesley Burke with 16 points, Jacob Vargas with 14 points, and Dylan Browning with 13 points.
