The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period January 29 – February 4.


Doug Molzahn

Baseball – Pitcher of the Week
Oregon Tech’s Doug Molzahn has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Molzahn, a junior from Coos Bay, Oregon, struck out nine batters, while improving Oregon Tech to 2-1 on the year.

Josh Kallstrom

Baseball – Player of the Week
Oregon Tech’s Josh Kallstrom has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.

Kallstrom, a junior 1B from Ephrata, Wash., continues to swing a hot bat for the Owls, picking up seven more hits this weekend with 4-doubles, 5-RBI, a home run and he scored 4-runs. He had a slugging percentage of .875 while pushing his season average up to .525.

Michael Loomis

Men’s Basketball
Michael Loomis of Northwest Christian has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Loomis, a senior forward from West Linn, Ore., posted a new school record with 48 points against Multnomah, the fifth-highest point total in CCC history and the third-highest in NAIA DII this season. Loomis also broke NCU record with 12 three-pointers, the highest in NAIA DII this season. He additionally recorded 18 rebounds, his second-highest total this year. In conference game this season, Loomis is #1 in the CCC scoring, #1 in the free throw percentage, #2 in 3-point field goals, and #2 in rebounding.

Matthew Kirkendall

Men’s Indoor - Track
Matthew Kirkendall of Eastern Oregon has named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Kirkendall, a senior from Menifee, Calif., broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday to win by a wide margin (0.31 of a second) over a heavy field consisting of NCAA DI opponents. Kirkendall dropped his record from 8.20 to 8.14 seconds. He had already hit an “A” standard mark in the event earlier this season, moving up to the 4th fastest time in the NAIA this year.

Shonn Roberts

Wrestling
Providence’s Shonn Roberts has been named the Red Lion Wrestler of the Week.

Roberts, a sophomore from Columbia Falls, Mont., was moved up from 149 to 157 to accommodate some seniors on the Argo’s Senior Night dual against #14 Embry-Riddle. Not only did he wrestle up a weight class, but wrestled a returning All-American, #7 James Williams. Roberts trailed for most of the match, but in the final 15 seconds he got a big takedown and turned it into a pin with just 4 seconds left on the clock. The 2017 Gorrarian Award winner at nationals now has 10 pins in 27 matches in 2017-18.

Colette Robert

Softball – Pitcher of the Week
College of Idaho’s Colette Robert has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Robert, a junior from Milton-Freewater, Ore., was 4-0 on the Yotes’ Arizona trip. She led her team to victories against Embry-Riddle, Ottawa, Benedictine Mesa and ACU.

Jordan Maddox

Softball – Player of the Week
Jordan Maddox of College of Idaho has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.

Maddox, a freshman IF from Alamo, Calif., was 15-for-29 on C of I’s Arizona trip, including 4 doubles and three homeruns. In Monday’s doubleheader against ACU, she was 4-for-7.

Maya Ah You-Dias

Women’s Basketball
Maya Ah You Dias of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Ah You Dias, a junior guard from Middleton, Idaho, had back-to-back 20 point games, averaging 25 over the weekend in just 25.5 minutes per game. She shot an incredible 10 for 27 from the field and 8 for 15 from behind the arc. With the two wins, the Mountaineers have won 17 straight games and are 16-0 in the CCC. Saturday’s win was also head coach Anji Weissenfluh’s 400th career win led by Ah You Dias.

Payton Jolley

Women’s Indoor - Field
Payton Jolley of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Jolley, a sophomore from Nampa, Idaho, added a half an inch to her indoor PR while garnering No. 2 in the program record books in the triple jump, leaping 35’ 10.5” to place third overall in the event.

Sarah Estabrook

Women’s Indoor - Track
Sarah Estabrook of Northwest has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Estabrook, a senior from Bonanza, Ore., was a double winner on Saturday at the Jim Green Invite at Illinois College. Estabrook ran away from a field of a total of 42 runners to win the mile by over 8 seconds and then came back the same day and won the women’s 5K with an NAIA “A” qualifying time. In the 5K, she defeated the runner-up by over 19 seconds on the flat, 200m track in the King Fieldhouse.
