Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period March 5 - 11.
James Bradwell
Baseball – Pitcher of the Week
James Bradwell of British Columbia has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Bradwell, a sophomore from Gisbons, B.C., had the best outing of his young career on Sunday in Keizer, Ore., against the Warriors. Bradwell gave up just one run and seven hits in a complete-game win, which also included eight strikeouts. Additionally he did not walk any Corban batters. In an ace-like performance, Bradwell helped the Thunderbirds stop a five-game losing streak.

Ethan Bragg
Baseball – Player of the Week
Corban’s Ethan Bragg has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Bragg, a senior outfielder from Jerome, Idaho, led the Warriors to its first-ever series win against UBC over the weekend, totaling seven hits, three runs scored and five RBI.

Chris Carew
Men’s Golf
College of Idaho’s Chris Carew has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Carew, a junior from Eagle, Idaho, won his first medalist honor of any kind for the C of I men since 2012. Additionally, it has been more than a decade since C of I has had a medalist in a 54-hole tournament.

Hunter Drops
Men’s Outdoor - Field
Hunter Drops of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Drops, a freshman from Coos Bay, Oregon, hit an NAIA “A” qualifier in Javelin and an NAIA “B” mark in the pole vault. He is currently ranked at #1 in the nation in both.

Travis Thomas
Men’s Outdoor - Track
Oregon Tech’s Travis Thomas has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Thomas, a senior from Inglewood, Calif., hit an NAIA “A” qualifier while setting the school record in the 200M with a time of 21.48 seconds, and is now #3 on the National List. Thomas also anchored the OIT 4X4 team into a 2nd place finish.

Sabrina Boyd
Softball – Pitcher of the Week
Sabrina Boyd of Corban has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Boyd, a senior from Pleasant Hill, Ore., threw two completegame shutouts over the weekend at Northwest, leading the Warriors to a four-game sweep of the Eagles. She allowed just four hits in both games, striking out 15 total batters in just 12 innings.

Chelsea Spanier
Softball – Player of the Week
Eastern Oregon’s Chelsea Spanier has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Spanier, a senior from Sandy, Ore., went an incredible 9-for-11 at the dish, leading the Mountaineers to a sweep of Northwest Christian. She finished with five extra base hits including two home runs, three doubles, 11 RBI and seven runs scored. Spanier was extremely clutch with a walk-off RBI single in Game 1 of the series to give EOU a 10-2 victory by a run rule. In Game 2, Spanier had the go-ahead 2 RBI single in the bottom of the 6th with the score tied 9-9 and in the final game, she hit a walk-off 3-run home run to, once again, run-rule the Beacons 16-7 after 6 innings.

Janelle Ferlan
Women’s Golf
Oregon Tech’s Janelle Ferlan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Ferlan, a senior from Molalla, Ore., shot an all-time tournament low of 149 in leading the Lady Owls to their 5th straight tournament win.

Anna Miller
Women’s Outdoor - Field
Anna Miller of Northwest has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. Miller, a junior from Yakima, Wash., made the most of the nice weather with an NAIA leading throw of 42.89 meters, resulting in her best collegiate throw. The meet was compromised of other NAIA, NCAA Division II and Division III universities.

Susie Garza
Women’s Outdoor - Track
Susie Garza of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. Garza, a junior from Baldwin Park, Calif., is now No. 1 on the National list in the 800 M and No. 2 on the National list in the 1500 M.
