DI and NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings Released
CLEVELAND – In the final set of NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup standings,
Lindsey Wilson remains in first in the NAIA with 643.50 points.
Wayland Baptist remains in second with 593.00 points, after claiming both the men’s and women’s indoor track and field titles, a third place finish in the women’s NAIA Division I basketball tournament and fifth place in the men’s NAIA Division I basketball tournament.
The Cascade Conference has eight teams represented led by The College of Idaho (5th), Southern Oregon (11th), Eastern Oregon (15th), Northwest (42nd), Oregon Tech (46th), Corban (67th), Northwest Christian (105th) and Warner Pacific (114th).
Northwestern (IA) jumped two spots to third with 539.50 points, after a third place finish in the women’s NAIA Division II basketball tournament, sixth place in women’s indoor track and field, ninth place in the men’s NAIA Division II basketball tournament, 24
th place in wrestling and 29
th place in men’s indoor track and field.
Morningside made a five spot leap to fourth with 494.00 points after placing in every winter sport including a fifth place finish in the men’s NAIA Division II basketball tournament and ninth place finish in the women’s tournament.
College of Idaho rounds out the top five with 481.50 points after top ten finishes in the men’s NAIA Division I basketball tournament and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.
The Sooner and Great Plains lead all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with two institutions each –
Wayland Baptist (2
nd) and
Oklahoma City (8
th) from the Sooner, and
Northwestern (IA) (3
rd) and
Morningside (4
th) from the Great Plains.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
