BOTHELL, Wash. - The University of Providence softball team went 0-2 in the last two games of a 4-game road series against Northwest University. The Lady Argos continued a good offensive season by getting off to hot starts and scoring in the first inning of both games.

Game 1 was close throughout until a sixth inning homer made the difference in a 3-2 loss. In Game 2, the Eagles quickly fought back from an early deficit with 11 runs in just three innings for an 11-1 final in 5 innings.

GAME 1

Key Moments:
· The Lady Argos keep bringing the heat from the start offensively. First up to bat for UP was Bailey Henderson (SR/Fernley, Nev.). Despite dealing with a nagging injury, she was patient at the plate, earning a walk and then got aggressive on the bases by stealing second. Next up to bat was Gabrielle Canibeyaz (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.) who hit her fourth double of the season to bring in Henderson. The second baseman made her way to third on a walk and a fielder's choice and finally made it home on a single from Karsten Williams (JR/Sandy, Utah) to bring the Lady Argos with a 2-0 lead.
· UP held off the Eagles until the fourth inning when a sac fly and a single tied the game at 2-2.
· With 1 out in the bottom of the sixth, NU's Maggie Harshaw got a hold of a UP pitch and sent it over the wall down the left field line. That gave NU a 3-2 lead and the Lady Argos couldn't make up the difference.

At the Plate:
· Williams hit her fourth RBI of the season going 1-4 with 1 hit and 1 RBI.
· UP's most effective hitter in the game was Canibeyaz who played a role in both of the team's runs. She went 2-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI. She now leads the team in RBIs (12).
· Still leading the conference in batting average, Henderson got on base twice with 2 walks but wasn't able to get a hit.
· NU's Harshaw killed the Lady Argos. She went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a home run, finishing with 1 RBI and 2 runs.

In the Circle:
• Kristina George (SR/Salt Lake City, Utah) pitched another complete game for UP and held off the Eagles offensive well until that final home run. George had 4 strikeouts and only allowed 3 runs in 7 hits.

GAME 2

Key Moments:
· UP ended the top of the first inning with a 1-0 lead over the Eagles. Another double from Cannibeyaz got her on base and she was then driven in by Karlie Southworth (SO/Lewiston, Mont.) for the only run scored in the game by the Lady Argos.
· The Lady Argos defense could not stop NU's offensive. From the bottom of the first inning, the Eagles came out on fire taking a 3-1 lead. Another 3 runs where earned by NU in the bottom of the third and a 5 run performance off of 4 hits in the bottom of the fourth led to the game ending in the 5-inning rule.
· Northwest outhit the Lady Argos 9-5 while playing a complete game with no errors while the UP had 3.

At the Plate:
· Canibeyaz went 1-3 and scored UP's only run. She also had her 6th double of the season.
· Southworth hit her third double of the season going 1-2 with 1 RBI.

In the Circle:
· Ashton Bell (JR/Castle Dale, Utah) pitched for three and a half innings with her fifth start of the season.
· Relieving Bell in the middle of the fourth was KJ Schewikert (FR/Columbia Falls, Mont.).
