KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- No. 24 Oregon Tech (24-7, 12-3 CCC) swept a doubleheader from Northwest Christian (5-25, 2-13 CCC) 8-1, and 11-2 Saturday at the OIT Softball Complex.
The win in game 1 for the Owls combined with the No. 14 Southern Oregon 1-0 win over No.7 Corban University vaults OIT and SOU into a 1
st place tie atop the CCC Standings at 12-3.
Game 1 Oregon Tech 8 Northwest Christian 1 (Conference game)
Kiahna Brown (pictured) hit her Cascade Conference leading 8th home run of the year and 4th of the weekend and
Sarah Abramson improved to 9-2 in the circle in leading OIT to the 8-1 win.
Alyssa Gayle took the CCC lead in home runs with her 8
th to give NCU the early 1-0 lead.
Tech tied the game at 1-1 with a run in the second inning then took control of the game with five-runs in the bottom of the 3
rd on 5-hits highlighted by a
Rachael Delamare 2-RBI single.
Tech added two more runs in the 5
th as Brown tied Gayle for the CCC lead in home runs with her fourth in the last two days, a 2-run shot that gave Tech the 8-1 win.
Ali Graham led the Owls with three-hits with Brown chipping in a pair of hits in the win.
Emma Jegtvig was pegged with the loss for the Beacons as she drops to 2-9 on the year.
Game 2 Oregon Tech 11 Northwest Christian 2 (Non-Conference game)
OIT took the lead early sending 12 batters to the plate, scoring 7-runs on 7-hits highlighted by a
McKenna Armantrout two out 2-RBI single.
Each team added a run in the third inning on home runs, Ciera Farias hit her first of the year for NCU and
Tara Moates hit her 4
th long ball of the year for the Owls.
The Beacons made it an 8-2 game with a run in the 4
th on two-hits but the Owls put the game away with three-runs in the 4
th as Freshman
Logan Nunes hammered her first collegiate home run over the center field fence to complete the Owls' scoring as OIT won 11-2 in the mercy-rule shortened 5-inning game.
Tech's
Loryn Williams looked strong in the circle as she improved to 4-1 on the year pitching all five innings, giving up only five-hits.

Oregon Tech will travel next weekend to Helena, Montana for a four game series against Carroll College starting Friday, April 6 at 1:00 pm
Northwest Christian will return home and host No. 14 Southern Oregon University next Friday and Saturday.
