Southern Oregon University Maintains Lead in All-Sport Standings
LA GRANDE, Ore. – With eight championships completed Southern Oregon University continues to lead the Cascade Collegiate Conference All-Sports Champion race.
The Raiders picked up a split of points with Menlo College in the inaugural season of men’s wrestling as the two squads tied for the championship. Women’s basketball earned second place points and men’s basketball split fourth and fifth place points with Eastern Oregon. Winter tallies, along with fall points, pushed SOU’s total points thus far to 184.28.
Making a jump from fifth place in the standings to second place is Eastern Oregon bolstered by first place points in women’s basketball. The Mountaineers also earned quality marks in wrestling-sixth and men’s basketball-tie fourth/fifth for a total of 154.82
The College of Idaho, Oregon Tech and Corban round out the top 5 with 146.58, 142 and 131.71 points respectively. CI was first in men’s basketball earning max points while women’s hoops were fifth. Oregon Tech received third place points for men’s basketball and fourth place points in women’s. Corban was sixth in both men’s and women’s basketball.
