The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 9 - 15.

Braeden Allemann

Baseball – Pitcher of the Week
British Columbia’s Braeden Allemann has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Allemann, a senior from Surrey, B.C., was brilliant in his second career start for the UBC Thunderbirds on Sunday against the Warriors. Allemann struck out 14 batters and gave up just a lone run in a complete-game 3-1 triumph. He scattered eight hits over the nine innings and didn’t walk anyone. With his performance, Allemann improved to 3-3 on the season with 2.45 ERA. His 14 strikeouts was one short of the school record for most in a game (15).

Cory Voss

Baseball – Player of the Week
Cory Voss of Lewis-Clark State College has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.

Voss, a junior catcher from Pueblo, Calif., went 8-for-18 for as LCSC took three of the four games against College of Idaho this week. Voss also hit one home run with an additional 2 runs.

Devery Stewart

Men’s Golf
Devery Stewart of Corban has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.

Stewart, a junior from Plain City, Utah, tied for first overall, earning medalist honors for the Warrior men’s golf team. In the process, he led Corban to the team title as well, finishing at four-under par for the tournament individually.

Zuhuri Manley

Men’s Outdoor - Field
Oregon Tech’s Zuhuri Manley has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Manley, a senior from Chico, Calif., had a great weekend for the Owls in his first meet of the year. He broke the school record and hit a “B” qualifier in the long jump. He also hit a “B” qualifier in the triple jump as he now leads the CCC by three feet, and improved his personal best by two feet.

Loryn Williams

Softball – Pitcher of the Week
Oregon Tech’s Loryn Williams has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Williams, a junior from Portland Ore., picked up three wins over the week including two wins over No. 9 Southern Oregon, keeping the Owl’s Conference Championship hopes alive.

Bailey Henderson

Softball – Player of the Week
Bailey Henderson of Providence has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.

Henderson, a senior outfielder from Fernley, NV, had a stunningly efficient week at the plate. Over the course of UP’s 7 games, Henderson hit .500, scored 10 runs, drove 5 RBI and stole a base. She also hit a home run in 4 straight games, including both of UP’s wins.

Janelle Ferlan

Women’s Golf
Oregon Tech’s Janelle Ferlan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.

Ferlan, a senior from Molalla, Ore., captured medalist honors in leading the Owls to a second place finish at the Warner Pacific Invite.

Makayla Akers

Women’s Outdoor - Field
Makayla Akers of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Akers, a freshman from Pendleton, Ore., has already qualified for nationals with an “A” standard mark and improved her top distance in the Javelin throw by over a meter and a half with the top throw of 42.71 meters. The long throw also bumped her up to No. 3 all-time in the EOU record books as she placed second in the NNU Invitational.

Amberly Melendez

Women’s Outdoor - Track
Northwest’s Amberly Melendez has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Melendez, a sophomore from Edinburg, Tex. And Northwest University’s All-American race walker, just qualified for a World Championship Team by finishing 4th in the 20K race walk in Philadelphia. She will represent USA at the World 20K Championships in China on May 5th and 6th. She is currently the #1 ranked NAIA race walker at the 5K. Two of the other top athletes in the top 4 competed in the Rio Olympics.
