Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period March 26 – April 1.
James Bradwell
Baseball – Pitcher of the Week
British Columbia’s James Bradwell has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Bradwell, a sophomore from Gibsons, B.C., threw seven shutout innings in UBC’s 6-0 win over the College of Idaho on Saturday. Bradwell gave up just five hits, while striking out seven batters. The sophomore improved to 2-3 on the season.

Josh Kallstrom
Baseball – Player of the Week
Oregon Tech’s Josh Kallstrom has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Kallstrom, a junior first base man from Ephrata, Wash., had another monster weekend at the plate with a .500 average as he scored and drove in 7 runs and scored 7 times in the weekend 4-game series. Josh now leads the NAIA-W in batting average, .388, in hits (54), total bases (90) and is tied for first in home runs (6), doubles (16) and is second in slugging percentage at .647.

Hunter Drops
Men’s Outdoor - Field
Oregon Tech’s Hunter Drops has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Drops, a freshman from Coos Bay Oregon, hit an “A” qualifier in the pole vault, is now No. 1 in the Nation on Friday. He followed that up with a 2nd place throw in the Javelin another “A” qualifier and in now No. 1 in the CCC and No. 7 in the nation.

Brian Comer
Men’s Outdoor - Track
Multnomah’s Brian Comer has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Comer, a senior from Sammamish, Wash., beat the NAIA “A” standard of 1:13.30 by six seconds with a 1:13.24 to win the Hop Hop Half Marathon on Saturday staged at Kleizer Armory finished first out of 449 male and female participants. In winning the event by seven minutes, he became the first Multnomah athlete to ever qualify for the NAIA National Championships, and is now eligible for the NAIA marathon at the Nationals on May 26 in Gulf Shores, ALa.

Gabby Sandoval
Softball – Pitcher of the Week
Southern Oregon’s Gabby Sandoval has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Sandoval, a sophomore from Anaheim, Calif., improved to 15-3 wins over Corban, including a 71-pitch shutout with three strikeouts and no walks in Game 3. Additionally she pitched 4 1/3 relief in the finale, allowing 4 of the 5 runs only because of two popups lost in the sun.

Kiahna Brown
Softball – Player of the Week
Kiahna Brown of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Brown, a junior second baseman from Redmond, Ore., put on the week with a batting average of .409. Out of the 9 hits she recorded 4 home runs and 7 RBI. Overall Brown finished the weekend with a slugging average of 1.091.

Katie Growe
Women’s Golf
College of Idaho’s Katie Growe has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Growe, a sophomore from Draper, Utah, earned her first medalist honor of her collegiate career, winning the title of the Walla Walla Invite at Wine Valley GC.

Hayley Morse
Women’s Outdoor - Field
College of Idaho’s Hayley Morse has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Morse, a senior from Boise, Idaho, had an amazing performance at the SFSU Distance Carnival, winning the shot put with a school record threw 45-3 ó, improving her NAIA “A” standard with the fourth-best mark in the NAIA. Morse followed it up with a monster heave in the hammer, crushing the school record by over five feet (163-3), establishing an NAIA “B” mark.

Jessa Perkinson
Women’s Outdoor - Track
Southern Oregon’s Jessa Perkinson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Perkinson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore., ran the fastest 10K in the NAIA since 2013, topping this year’s performance list by almost two full minutes. She won the San Francisco State Distance Carnival against almost exclusive NCAA DI/DII runners by 11 seconds and beat her own school by 95 seconds.
