SALEM, Ore. – The No. 13-ranked Corban University softball team played a total of 21 innings on Friday, and the Warriors walked off with two wins, defeating Eastern Oregon University in extra innings both games. In game one, the Warriors won in nine innings, 2-1, while in game two, Corban won in dramatic fashion in the 12th inning, 1-0.

"It was huge to see the team find a way to win two ball games today when things didn't go smoothly for us," said Corban head coach Abigail Farler. Our pitching was solid from all three kids today, and the defense was solid along with the offense producing when needed. I'm proud of the girls for fighting hard all day long today."

In game one, Rayne Spencer blasted one over the left field wall in the sixth inning to put the Mountaineers up 1-0, but Corban's Jessie Isham provided the clutch solo home run in the bottom of the seventh, sending the game to extra innings.

Eventually in the ninth, it was Isham at the plate again with runners on at first and second, and she laced the game-winning RBI single up the middle, lifting the Warriors to the triumph.

Sabrina Boyd earned the win in the circle for Corban, tossing all nine innings while allowing just one run and striking out four. For EOU, Hailey Kline also threw a gem, pitching eight innings while giving up just the two runs.

Game two saw pitchers dominate once again, as it was EOU's Ashton Kazmierski throwing well for the Mountaineers and Corban's Ally Crakes in the circle for the home squad. Crakes went nine innings, and then Alyssa Vidal came in for Crakes in relief, tossing three frames. Neither pitcher allowed a run, and EOU only totaled five hits.

Lauren Spence came on in relief and threw 6.2 innings for EOU, pitching all the way into the 12th, but eventually it was senior Alyssa Doty who lined a leadoff single in the 12th frame, and then eventually it was Tatum Prechtel who was the hero for the Warriors.

With one out and Tabby Humphrey, the pinch runner, at third base, Prechtel lined the game-winning RBI single to right field, winning the game in walk-off fashion for the second-straight contest for the Warriors.

Both teams tallied only five hits in the 12-inning marathon.

Corban (29-10, 18-5 CCC) returns to the field tomorrow for Senior Day against Eastern Oregon. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m.
