The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 16 - 22.


Tyler Burch

Baseball – Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Burch of Lewis-Clark State has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Burch, a junior from East Wenatchee, Wash., didn’t allow a run after the second inning in pitching the complete game. His complete game was the first of the year for the Warriors and his 12 strikeouts are a career-high for him and a seasonhigh for the Warrior pitching staff.

Tyler McDowell

Baseball – Player of the Week
Tyler McDowell of Lewis-Clark State College has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.

McDowell, a first baseman from Puyallup, Wash., hit for the cycle in LC’s 16-14 victory Sunday afternoon. The last time an LC player hit for the cycle was in 2005. His efforts at the plate enabled the Warriors to notch the biggest comeback in school history when they rallied from a 10-1 deficit to win 16-14.

Seth Gretz

Men’s Outdoor - Field
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Gretz, a senior from Rogue River, Ore., won his third straight Cascade Conference Decathlon Championships Friday afternoon at Southern Oregon University. He is also now the National Decathlon leader. Gretz won four of the first six events including the 100m dash (11.27 seconds), long jump (22’-03.50”) and high jump with a best mark of 6’-05” all while setting a PR with 6895 total points.

Nathan Martin

Men’s Outdoor - Track
Corban’s Nathan Martin has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Martin, a senior from Turner, Ore., set two school records and hit the NAIA “A” standard in the 110m Hurdles, and then and NAIA “B” standards in the 200m, winning the race in the process.

Sabrina Boyd

Softball – Pitcher of the Week
Sabrina Boyd of Corban has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Boyd, a senior from Pleasant Hill, Ore., tossed 16 innings in two wins, allowing just one run in the two games. In Saturday’s Senior Day win, she threw a complete-game shutout while allowing one hit.

Ali Graham

Softball – Player of the Week
Ali Graham of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.

Graham, a junior first baseman from Chehalis, Wash., had video game like numbers for the weekend including, a slugging percentage of 1.538, a batting average of .692, with 3-HR’s, 2-doubles, 7-RBI, and she scored six times. In the process she upped her season average to .415.

Loghan Sprauer

Women’s Outdoor - Field
Loghan Sprauer of Southern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Sprauer, a sophomore from Mt. Angel, Ore., became SOU’s first heptathlon champion since 2001. She had a 3-point lead going into the final event, the 800, and clinched the victory by defeating runner-up Lindsay Asplund by 2 seconds in 2:24.62. Sprauer also hit a personal best during the meet in the long jump (16’-1.5”) and the 200 (25.44).

Jessa Perkinson

Women’s Outdoor - Track
Southern Oregon’s Jessa Perkinson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Perkinson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore., ran the NAIA’s fastest 5K since 2009 in her first attempt at it since she won last year’s national outdoor title. At 16:13.79, she beat her old personal best by 24 seconds and took over the top spot on the national performance list by a margin of 14.3 seconds. This was one of the fastest collegiate races at any level in the country.
