BEND, Ore.
– With a first-round score of six-over-par 78, Stephanie Koza has the individual lead and her Oregon Institute of Technology team in first place after Monday’s action in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championships here at the Pronghorn Resort’s Nicklaus Golf Course.

Oregon Tech shot a four-player 18-hole score of 334 on the par-72, 5,814-yard course, 12 strokes ahead of Corban University’s 346.  The College of Idaho is third at 372, and Walla Walla University is fourth at 463.  Tournament host Multnomah University and Warner Pacific University are fielding incomplete teams and thus have no team score, while Northwest Christian’s players are competing as individuals only.

Koza holds a two-stroke lead over OIT teammate Janelle Ferlan and the College of Idaho’s Natalie Mullins, both at 80.  Bethany Bullers of Corban is fourth at 83, while three players are tied for fifth at 87: Holly Froelich of OIT and Corban’s Casey Jansen and Faith Newburn.

The second and final round will be played Tuesday, with an expected tee time of 10:00 a.m. due to anticipated morning frost.
