Tyler Franke of Oregon Tech had the best first round of the CCC Men's Championships, shooting a two-over-par 74 at the Pronghorn Resort in Bend, Ore., Monday.

BEND, Ore. – Only three teams were able to complete both of the first two rounds of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championships here at the Pronghorn Resort’s Nicklaus Golf Course Monday due to darkness, with the Oregon Institute of Technology holding the first-day lead.
Oregon Tech shot a four-player 36-hole score of 308-304=612 on the par-72, 7,017-yard course, with Corban University second at 305-323=628 and the College of Idaho third at 323-319=642. Four other teams still had golfers out on the course when play was halted. Those teams posted first-round scores of 328 for Walla Walla University, 329 for Northwest Christian University, 330 for Warner Pacific . University, and 388 for tournament host Multnomah University.
Among players with two rounds in, Mayson Tibbs has the best score with a four-over-par 77-71=148, with Chris Carew of the College of Idaho two shots back at 76-74=150. Tied for third are Reed Burroughs of C of I with a 79-73=152 and first-round leader Tyler Franke of OIT at 74-78=152. Houston Knox of OIT is fifth at 77-76=153.
Tuesday’s plans, if morning frost does not push everything back, call for the second round to pick up at 8:30 a.m. with four groups completing three holes. The men’s groups will then be re-paired, and while that is taking place, the women’s teams will tee off around 10:00 a.m. on the back nine for the second and final round of their championships. The men’s third and final round will then follow the women.
