Special Olympians Compete in Exhibition Races at CCC Championships
Special Olympics Exhibition Part of CCC T/F Championships
HERMISTON, Ore. - On Saturday May 12th, as part of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championships, area Special Olympic athletes participated in exhibition races in the men's and women's 100 meters.
Eastern Oregon University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee members and advisor Stephanie Upshaw worked with the organization to provide the opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talents on the track.
“I want to thank the EOU SAAC and in particular Assistant AD Stephanie Upshaw for arranging the exhibition races," stated CCC Commissioner Rob Cashell. "It was a great way to start day two of our championships and I hope the athletes enjoyed themselves, I know the fans enjoyed watching them compete."
