LA GRANDE, Ore. – Southern Oregon University senior catcher Harlee Donovan was named the 2018 Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and Corban’s senior Sabrina Boyd was named Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season  on a vote by the league’s coaches. The two league stars head-up the All-CCC and Gold Glove lists that were revealed Thursday night at the CCC Softball Tournament Banquet in Ashland.
 
Donovan, from Half Moon Bay, California is the first Raider to be named Player of the Year since 2003 and leads the league in seven categories including; batting average (.453), slugging % (.753), on-base % (.576), hits (68), RBI’s (59), total bases (113) and walks (44). The first team nod is the second straight for the Raider catcher who earned 1st team honors in 2017 also.
 
Boyd, a senior from Pleasant Hill, Oregon was voted the Pitcher of the Year after going 17-6 with a 1.66 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 160.1 innings during the regular season.
 
Infielder Mahina Chong, a junior transfer from Yavapai College and native of Wai’anae, Hawaii, was named Newcomer of the Year after posting a .377 batting average with 3 home runs, 17 doubles, 38 RBI and 25 runs scored. Southern Oregon’s Jessica Pistole was named Coach of the Year. Pistole also earned the honor in 2016.
