Red Lion Players of the Week Announced

The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 30 – May 6.

Dawson Kennon

Men’s Outdoor - Field
Eastern Oregon’s Dawson Kennon has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Kennon, a freshman from Union, Ore., already auto qualified for nationals, hit the “A” mark once again with a long throw of 57.8m. Kennon took fifth place individually and was .12 meters short of his PR, which ranks 12th in the NAIA and 2nd in the CCC this season.

TJ Randle

Men’s Outdoor - Track 
Northwest’s TJ Randle has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Randle, a senior from Tacoma, Wash., broke his school record in the 400m hurdle with a national leading time of 52.28 seconds, while also hitting the “B” Standard for NAIA in the 110m hurdle. In the 400m hurdle, he ran patient and didn’t even break the lead until after the last hurdle.

Hailey Kline

Softball – Pitcher of the Week
Eastern Oregon’s Hailey Kline has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Kline, a senior from Pendleton, Ore., was dominant in the CCC Tournament with four appearances and three starts. She went 3-1 with victories over No. 20 Oregon Tech and No. 12 Corban in elimination games. Kline struck out 29 batters in 23.2 innings and allowed just four runs as she led EOU to the national tournament with the CCC’s second automatic bid.

Hannah Shimek

Softball – Player of the Week
Hannah Shimek of Southern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.

Shimek, a freshman right fielder from Bothell, Wash., went 6-for-10 with three stolen bases during the CCC Tournament, and had a pair of run-scoring hits in the championship clincher against Eastern Oregon.

Bailey Dell

Women’s Outdoor - Field
Bailey Dell of Northwest Christian has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Dell, a senior from La Salle, Ontario, won the Oregon Twilight by 10’10” over DI, DII field including throwers from Oregon and Oregon State. She is the national leader and once again threw further than the No. 2 ranked thrower while missing a season best by just eight and a half inches.

Rachel Roelle

Women’s Outdoor - Track
Rachel Roelle of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Roelle, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska, continued her incredible run on the women’s side of the 3,000m steeplechase. After breaking her own EOU record in the event and auto qualifying for nationals at the BSU Border Dual last week, she again broke her own record with a time of 10:44.21, which now ranks 1st in the NAIA this season by nearly 6 seconds.
