SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head women's soccer coach Likius Hafeni announced the 2018 recruiting class for the Warrior women's soccer team on Monday, naming nine players that would be joining the squad.

"We are extremely excited about this year's incoming class," said Hafeni. "We are bringing in some experienced transfer players and some younger talented freshmen who will contribute immediately to our program and hit the ground running. The new players all have great individual qualities, but together they are smart, disciplined, and team-players who we expect to take us to the next level. We are excited to see our team develop and make a contribution to the community and those around them in a Christ-like manner. These players will add to our team chemistry and help us to be a top contender in our conference."

Rylee MacDonald – 5' 6" – M – Clark CC – Camas HS – Wash.

MacDonald joins the Warriors as a transfer after two successful years at Clark CC. While garnering Player of the Year accolades for the NWACC, she was twice named to the All-Star Team during her time there. Prior to Clark, she was the Offensive Player of the Year in High School in Camas.

MacDonald plans to major in Psychology at Corban and intends to become a Psychologist.

Kayla Sorrick – 5' 6" – D – Hawaii Pacific Univ. – Bullard HS – Calif.

Sorrick comes to Corban after two years of NCAA Division II experience at Hawaii Pacific University. While garnering a high level of playing experience in Hawaii, Sorrick was previously a standout in high school in California, collecting All-Region accolades three years in a row. In addition, she received the Defensive Player MVP award and captained her team during her senior season.

Sorrick is set to be a Pre-Med major at Corban and plans to work in the Combat Trauma field after college.

Riley Smetzler – 5' 7" – D – Clark CC – Ridgefield HS – Wash.

Smetzler adds to the talented group of transfers coming to Corban in the fall of 2018, as she brings two more years of experience from Clark CC. While at Clark, she was named the South Region MVP and captained the team. Prior to Clark, she received League Defensive MVP honors in high school to go along with First-Team All-State accolades as a defender.

Smetzler is set to major in Exercise Science at Corban and intends to enter the Physical Therapy field after college.

April Jaimes – 5' 2" – M – Ponderosa HS – Calif.

Hailing from Placerville, Calif., Jaimes comes to Salem after a successful high school career. While leading her team to league championships on the Club side of things, she also was successful at the high school level, garnering Most Outstanding Player plaudits.

Jaimes is set to major in English at Corban with the intent of becoming an editor at a publishing company someday.

Hannah Shore – 5' 8" – F – Bonneville HS – Utah

Shore, a familiar face to Warrior fans, joins the Corban soccer team during the fall of 2018 after two years on the Warrior basketball squad. Prior to Corban, she was a standout on the soccer field in high school in Utah, serving as her team's top attacking player throughout her career. While leading the team to the State Championship her freshman year, she was the leading scorer her junior and senior seasons, receiving All-State honors in the process.

Shore is currently majoring in Criminal Justice with the intent of becoming an FBI Agent.

Skyla Vogelpohl – 5' 8" – M – Borah HS – Idaho

Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Vogelpohl comes to Corban after a highly successful high school career. While leading her team to the District Finals and then a fifth-place finish in the high school state tournament, she led the Boise Nationals Club squad to a pair of State Championships and the Far West Regionals.

Vogelpohl plans to major in Health Science with the intent of going into Physical Therapy.

Alejandra Gabriel – 5' 4" – D – McKay HS – Ore.

Gabriel, a local standout at McKay HS, joins the Warriors in the fall of 2018 looking to make an impact. A captain of her high school squad, she received Honorable-Mention All-Conference plaudits during her time at McKay. In addition, she played for the CFC Dynamo during her high school years.

Gabriel intends to major in Exercise Science with the intent of going into Physical Therapy.

Jade Venegas – 5' 3" – M – South Salem HS – Ore.

Venegas joins the Navy and Gold after a standout career at the high school level in Salem. While leading her club team to the State Championship, she also collected All-Conference plaudits during her time at South Salem HS, playing on the varsity squad for four years.

Elizabeth Brock – 5' 9" – GK – Nipomo HS – Calif.

Hailing from Santa Maria, Calif., Brock has been a standout goalkeeper for the Central Coast Eagles. While garnering the Player of the Tournament at the Davis Legacy showcase in 2016, and has served as one of the top goalkeepers in California over the last few years.
