PULLMAN, Wash. – The Corban University men’s soccer team battled against an NCAA Division I foe on Sunday afternoon, ultimately tying Gonzaga University (Wash.) on the road, 3-3. For the Warriors, it was their last match prior to their first official game in the coming week.
Due to the match being moved from Spokane to Pullman at the last second because of poor air quality in Spokane, no official stats are available.
Corban took a 2-0 lead in the first half, highlighted by a goal from rookie Levan Zhividze.
In the second stanza, Gonzaga scored twice to pull level, but Warrior senior forward Alex Segovia scored to put Corban back in front midway through the second half, 3-2.
The Zags’ would ultimately score once more late on to tie the match at 3-3.
Corban officially begins its 2018 season on Wednesday night when it hosts Spring Arbor University (Mich.). Kickoff at the CFC Soccer Complex is set for 7 p.m.
