Another Shutout, Another Win for Evergreen

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Evergreen men's soccer remained unbeaten and unscored upon in two matches this season after defeating the host Pacific University Boxers, 2-0, here Sunday evening.

Senior goalkeeper Ben Stevenson made two saves for his second shutout of the season, and the Evergreen defense limited their opponents to just five shots for the second straight game.

The Geoducks enjoyed a 13-5 shot differential and put nine of their shots on target, forcing two Pacific goalkeepers into making a combined seven saves.

Evergreen got a goal on either side of the half, the first coming from Emilio Meraz-Rodriguez in the 11th minute and the second from Juan Lopez in the 62nd. Angel Trejo Delgado was credited with the assist on the first goal, while Tino Pantaleon picked up the assist on the Lopez tally.

A total of 18 different players saw action for the Geoducks, while Pacific put 21 different players on the field in what was for them an exhibition contest.
