PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – Northwest University held tight to No. 12 ranked Keiser University through the first half, tied 1-1. Maxi Krug had a quick goal in the second half, and Northwest University found themselves in an uphill battle the rest of the game.

Rylee Rassier of Northwest University kept the game close for the first half by responding to Krug’s early goal. Rassier had a volley off the corner kick by Katie Michkiosky just 50 seconds after Krug’s first goal to bring the game tied 1-1 at half.

Maxi Krug had an outstanding performance for Keiser University. She started the day with a goal off a header from the left side at 6 minutes and 16 seconds. Krug was quiet until early in the second half when she scored her second goal of the day, a chip shot from 30 yards out in the 48 minute. Maxi Krug capped off her day by completing the hat trick with a goal in the 56 minute from 25 yards away.

Keiser University played aggressively and outshot the Eagles, 31-8. Keiser also had 9 fouls compared to Northwest’s 1 foul. Head Coach Bryan Chud remarked, “Keiser University was a very well-organized team that is currently ranked number 12 in the nation. I was really pleased with the effort, especially in the first half when we came into the break with the score tied 1-1. The second half, we gave away two quick goals, and it was uphill from there. This trip has been a great experience, and we got great fitness from it as well!”
