Knights Complete Comeback for First Win
NEWBERG, Ore. - Warner Pacific scored two second half goals to earn a comeback victory over George Fox in Newberg yesterday evening.
For the 3rd time this year, the Knights conceded first. Fernando Torres finished from close range after a corner kick delivery in the 48th minute, putting the host Bruins out front.
This time the WPU men mounted an offensive charge, and equalized in thh 27th minute. Elias Soto scored his first goal of the year by heading in a corner kick from Octavio Hermosillo.
Hermosillo then provided the game winner in the 82nd minute. as his shot into the box deflected past the GFU keeper.
WPU enjoyed a 14-6 advantage in shots attempted, a generated six corner kicks to 4 for George Fox.
