GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Argo women's soccer fought resiliently but it wasn't enough as they fell to Rocky Mountain College, 0-2, during their season opener in a non-conference match against the Battlin' Bears at Argo Field on Tuesday. The Argos (0-1) hung tough with Rocky (1-0), who finished as the conference runner-up last season, holding the Battlin' Bears to three shots and kept them scoreless in the first half.

During the first period, both teams were relatively quiet as the game remained scoreless going into the half. The Argos made two shots and the Battlin' Bears attempted three. Providence had one shot on target, which resulted in a save for Rocky's Maia Wetzel.

The second period was a different story, however, as the Battlin' Bears scored in the 52nd minute to break the standstill. The Argos then went on a 6-1 tear to outshoot the Battlin' Bears and tie the game up, but it was to no avail as the Argos couldn't get anything to fall.

Eme McLaughlin took five shots with two on target, while Sydney Knieriem made four shots with two on target. On the defensive end, Dakota Neaumann garnered four saves, while allowing her first two goals of the season. The Argos held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks as well, four of which came in the first period.
