Lady Owls Dominate Finish 1st, Men 3rd at Linfield Harrier Classic

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The No. 4 ranked Oregon Tech women's cross country team opened the 2018 season with a perfect score to capture the Linfield Harrier Classic title while the No. 10 ranked Oregon Tech men finished 3rd Friday at Joe Dancer Park.
 
Head Coach Jack Kegg said, "We really had a good day. Our Freshman class showed some real potential but we still have some work to do."
 
The OIT Women finished 1st through 5th in team scoring led by seniors Susie Garza (15:10) and Cindy Reed (15:23). Two Tech freshman then finished 3rd and 4th with Andie Kolasinski finishing in a time of (15:38.5) and Faith Widman in a time of (15:38.8). Rounding out the perfect score in fifth place was Senior Danielle De Castro in a time of (15:43).
 
The Oregon Tech men finished 3rd with 59 points behind Western Oregon in 2nd place (41 points) and George Fox 1st with 27 points. Tech was led by Freshman Nicholas McMillen (7th) with a time of 20.21, Paul Wyatt (8th) 20.24, Ricky Garcia (11th) 20.42 and Chris Ramirez (14th) 21.00.
 
Up Next: Oregon Tech Cross Country will head to the Humboldt Invite at Patrick's Point State Park in Arcata, California on Saturday, September 8.
