Walla Walla Adds Five Golfers for 2018-19 Season

College Place, Wash. – Walla Walla University (WWU) men's and women's head coach Mike Jimenez has completed his roster by announcing the signing of five student athletes to the Cascade Collegiate Conference for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Jimenez is looking forward to adding this group to a Wolves program who saw their men's team finish third at the Cascade Conference Championships last spring. "We are extremely excited to be adding these individuals to our team," said Jimenez. "Their athleticism along with the quality of people they exude will help our golf program leaps and bounds."

Connor Lees, 5'6", of Bonney Lake, Wash. Lees is transferring from Walla Walla Community College and will be a junior at WWU. Lees was ranked the number one golfer this past season while competing for the Warriors at the community college.

Lees will pursue a degree in Business Administration during his time at WWU and plans to use his degree to get into management.

Laken Scott, 5'8", of Calhoun, Ga. Scott graduated from Georgia Cumberland Academy and will be a freshman at WWU.

Scott will pursue a degree in Pre-Law and plans to use her degree in international development.

Thomas Ewert, 5'9", of Deer Park, Wash. Ewert graduated from Upper Columbia Academy in 2017 and will be a sophomore at WWU. The 2018-19 season will be his first season on the Wolves golf team.

Ewert is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration and plans on becoming an accountant.

Tori Johnson, 5'7", of Milwaukie, Ore. Johnson will be a sophomore at WWU. Previously on the softball team her freshman year, Johnson will transition over to the golf team for her first season on the team.  

Johnson is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing and plans to work as a labor and delivery nurse.

Sarah Halverson, 6'0", of Hillsboro, Ore. Halverson will be a sophomore at WWU. Currently on the volleyball team, Halverson will become a dual-sport athlete for the Wolves during the 2018-19 season.

Halverson is currently pursuing degree in education and plans on becoming an elementary teacher.
