The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 3-September 9.

 

Volleyball-Attacker

Evergreen’s Chloee Hunt has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Attacker of the Week.

 

Hunt, a junior for the Geoducks, was stellar in Evergreen’s big week of CCC competition. She racked up 25 kills on a .457 attack percentage in the squad’s victories over Northwest Christian and Corban. Hunt was a consistent presence at the net for the Geoducks, helping the program to it’s first-ever 3-0 start in conference play.

Volleyball-Defender

In addition to being named the Red Lion Attacker of the Week, Chloee Hunt of Evergreen has also been named the Red Lion volleyball Defender of the Week.

 

The middle blocker from Astoria, Ore. earned both offensive and defensive Player of the Week honors after dominating both sides of the ball in Evergreen’s two CCC triumphs. On the defensive end, Hunt set a program-record with 12 total blocks in the team’s four-set upset over Corban, finishing the week with one solo block and an impressive 15 block assists.

Volleyball-Setter

Evergreen’s Sierra Wolff has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.

 

Wolff, a freshman from Caldwell, Idaho, receives the award for the second-consecutive week, playing a key role in each of Evergreen’s two conference wins. Dishing out a total of 72 assists against Northwest Christian and Corban, Wolff has led the Geoducks to a 5-2 record since taking over as the squad’s setter.

Women’s Soccer-Offense

Rocky Mountain’s Lauryn Gamache has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

 

Gamache, a junior hailing from St. Louis, Mo., continued her hot start to the 2018 season, scoring six goals on the week for the Battlin’ Bears, while also tallying an assist. Gamache now has seven goals on the year, playing a key role in the team’s 4-1 start.

Women’s Soccer-Defense

College of Idaho’s Shae Waters has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

 

Waters, a freshman from San Clemente, Calif., was invaluable in goal for the Yotes, shutting out Whitworth to earn a scoreless draw, and holding Whitman to just one goal in the team’s 4-1 triumph. In total, Waters racked up seven saves on the week.

Men’s Soccer-Offense
 

Nolan Sherwood of Rocky Mountain has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

 

Sherwood, hailing from Las Vegas, Nev., helped the No. 10-ranked Battlin’ Bears go undefeated on the week, scoring in both of the team’s victories. Sherwood found the back of the net twice in the team’s 4-0 win over Mid-America Christian, and he opened the scoring in the team’s triumph over Jamestown.

Men’s Soccer-Defense
 

Manuel Guillermo of Multnomah has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

 

Guillermo, a senior from Guadalajara, Mexico, was crucial in the Lions 1-0 triumph over Linfield, the program’s first-ever win over an NCAA opponent. Guillermo was a strong presence between the pipes for Multnomah, recording six saves in the shutout.

Women’s Cross Country

College of Idaho’s Molly Vitale-Sullivan has been named the Red Lion women’s cross country Runner of the Week.

 

Vitale-Sullivan, a junior from Pocatello, Idaho, claimed a 1st place individual finish at the CSI Classic with her time of 18:37 in the 5K. Vitale-Sullivan rose to the top of a very competitive field, which featured harriers from NCAA Division 1 programs Utah and Weber State, to claim her second career individual victory.

Men’s Cross Country

 

College of Idaho’s Marcos Cervantes has been named the Red Lion men’s cross country Runner of the Week.

 

Cervantes led the way for the Yotes men’s cross country team at the CSI Invite, finishing 7th overall (3rd among non-Division 1 competitors) with his time of 23:09 in the 7K.
