College Place, Wash. – The Wolves hosted the Owls of Oregon Tech on Sunday afternoon on Windemuth Court. A .381 attack percentage by the Owls and a lack of Wolves ball control led to the Owls pulling off their first conference win of the season in three straight sets (25-10, 25-17, and 25-13).

The Owls (6-4, CCC 2-0) playing their third straight conference game in as many days, did not look like a team that had tired legs and was aggressive early, finding open space in the Wolves (0-3, CCC 0-2) defense in set one. The Owls and Wolves went back and forth before a 5-0 run by the Owls pushed their lead to 18-8. The Wolves would eventually fall in set one, 25-10, as the Owls were able to take advantage off free balls and control the net.

Set two saw a similar start, as the Wolves and Owls battled back and forth exchanging points off open seams kills and team errors. The turning point in set two was an Owls 5-0 run that extend their lead over the Wolves, 13-8.  The Wolves would respond with a 7-4 run to make the score, 19-15, forcing the visiting team to call timeout. The Owls would respond out of the timeout, as they closed the set on a 6-2 run to claim set two, 25-17.

The Wolves started set three in a quick 5-0 deficit, as errors attributed to the fast start by the Owls. The Wolves were never able to recover and would fall in set three, 25-13 en route to the Owls claiming the match in straight sets.

The Wolves were led by Lauren Barlow (8 kills and 8 digs) and setter Krista Schafer (16 assists and 8 digs).

The Owls were led by Jamie Toedtemeier (36 assists and 10 digs), Chase Bohman (17 kills and 12 digs), and Camryn Johnson (10 kills).
