Issaquah, Wash. – Northwest University hosted the CCC Preview Meet for the first time in ten years. This was the first time for Northwest University to host a cross country meet at Lake Sammamish Park. Southern Oregon, Northwest Christian, Walla Walla University, and Multnomah University all made the trip to get a first-hand look at the course before the Conference Championships in November.
On the women’s side, Northwest Christian took first with Cassandra Brownell crossing the finish line first with a time of 18:34. Anika Rasubala, of Northwest Christian, was just 10 seconds behind with at time of 18:44.
On the men’s side, Jacob Truitt, of Northwest Christian, left the pack behind to be the first to cross the finish line with a time of 25:40. However, that was not enough for the team victory with Southern Oregon quickly approaching. Southern Oregon’s team was led by Ryan Alexander with a time of 25:58 to lead them to a team victory.
Northwest University head coach, Mark Mandi said, “I’m really thankful for all of the volunteers and fans who came out to support and make this event a good one. This meet was extremely valuable in preparations for the Conference Championship.”
