College Place, Wash. – The Wolves hosted the Southern Oregon University Raiders Sunday afternoon for clash against the reigning conference champions. Unfortunately for the Wolves (0-8, 0-4 CCC), the Raiders (7-2, 4-0 CCC) would display the firepower that won them the conference last year by converting early opportunities en route to 10-1 victory. The loss would keep the Wolves winless in conference while the Raiders would improve their conference record to 4-0.
The Raiders would waste no time, as forward Daniel
McDevitt would find the back of the net in the 2nd minute. Raiders forward Noah Addie would net the next two goals for the Raiders in the 6th and
17th minutes, respectively, push the lead over the Wolves to 3-0.
The Raiders and Wolves would go back and forth for the next 14 minutes, as each team had opportunities to score, but none resulted in goals. In the
31st minute, Raiders midfielder Jared Delaney would find the back of the net via a Wolves keeper deflection. The Wolves would find an equalizer goal in the
36th minute off the leg of Carlos Cantu from teammate Zachary Christensen.
Raiders forward Addie would get in on the action again right before halftime, finding midfielder Roberto
Lupera in the
43rd minute, who converted the pass from midfield to find the back of the net and put the Wolves in a 5-1 halftime deficit.
Coming out of halftime the young Wolves looked to limit the Raiders attack, however the Raiders would net their sixth goal in the
52nd minute off the leg of Addie, his third of the game, netting him a hat trick for the match. The Wolves and Raiders would back and forth for a scoreless 18 minutes before the Raiders would score a trio of goals, led by Mitchel
Pinney (1 goal & 2 assists) within a span of six minutes to push the score to 9-1.
The Raiders would ride their hot start en route to a 10-1 victory over the Wolves.
