Northwest Edges Out Multnomah in Five Sets

PORTLAND – The Multnomah University volleyball team couldn't hang on to their advantage, falling to Northwest University in five sets 20-25, 27-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-7 on Jim Skagen Court on Friday night.

GAME SUMMARY:
- Multnomah struck first, breaking a 9-9 tie in the first set with an 8-1 run to pull ahead of the Eagles.
- In the second set, both teams traded points to a 25-25 tie before Northwest tallied the final two points of the set to even the match.
- NU finished with a .181 hitting percentage while holding the Lions to a mark of .076.
- In the final set, Northwest broke away from the Lions with a 9-1 run to seal the victory.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Sydney Amundsen tallied 19 kills followed Maile Kam with 17 kills and Miranda Halverson with 10.
- Rachel Leshikar was a force in the back line, tallying 30 digs, her highest total as a Lion. Marissa Rhodes broke the 50 mark in assists, finishing with 51 assists overall.
