GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer team claimed another shutout, 6-0, to finish the weekend 2-0.
Eme McLaughlin led the Argos with three goals, with
Kate Sisler,
Sarah Howell, and
Malena Lennon tallying the other three.
The outshot the Lions by a massive 40-2 margin. The Argos also controlled corner kicks in the game as they garnered seven.
The game was slow at the start as the Argos didn't get anything going until the 37
th minute.
Alexis Cavalier played a ball to McLaughlin who netted the ball from the right side of the box to put the Argos up, 1-0.
The Argos tallied their second goal of the first half in the 40
th minute as
Kate Sisler received a cross from McLaughlin to net some insurance for Providence, 2-0.
Following the break,
Sarah Howell tallied the Argos' third goal of the game in the 50
th minute to net a ball from the 18-yard right side box, 3-0.
McLaughlin tallied her second and third goals of the match in the 53
rd and 57
th minute after beating the goalie in a one on one and netting a long ball in the right corner to push the Argo lead to five, 5-0.
The Argos tallied their final goal of the match in the 61
st minute as
Malena Lennon nets a goal off a corner kick from
Sydney Knieriem.
