The Eagles fought hard throughout, shooting seven times. They were led by Trent Siedenburg’s two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Agazi Birkner had 10 saves, preventing many Geoduck goals early in the game.
However, in the 78
th minute, Evergreen finally found its scoring mark with a goal from Mitchell Balmer. They finished things off when Philip Gyamfi scored a goal in the 90
th minute. The Geoducks shot 22 times in the match.
Northwest head coach Gary McIntosh commented, “I was happy with our effort today but we struggled today connecting passes and doing anything in the final third. Our final third play has to get better. Looking forward to training this week.”
