Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University (2-4-2, 1-3-1 CCC) lost to the Evergreen Geoducks (5-2-1, 2-2-1 CCC) after allowing two second half goals. The match was neck-and-neck throughout, but a last minute goal by the Geoducks put the final nail in the coffin.

The Eagles fought hard throughout, shooting seven times. They were led by Trent Siedenburg’s two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Agazi Birkner had 10 saves, preventing many Geoduck goals early in the game.

However, in the 78th minute, Evergreen finally found its scoring mark with a goal from Mitchell Balmer. They finished things off when Philip Gyamfi scored a goal in the 90th minute. The Geoducks shot 22 times in the match.

Northwest head coach Gary McIntosh commented, “I was happy with our effort today but we struggled today connecting passes and doing anything in the final third.  Our final third play has to get better.  Looking forward to training this week.”
