GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo men's soccer starts slow, but rally to score two in the final period to down the Multnomah University Lions on Saturday, 2-0.
The first half was quiet for both sides as the Argos led in shots, 8-6, and corners, 5-0, but neither team could find success as they both headed to the locker room tied at zero.
The Argos got on the board first to open the second half as Gudmundur Gudmundsson shot a ball that was knocked in by the Lions' keeper for an own goal to put the Argos up 1-0.
Providence tacked on some insurance in the 72
nd minute as George Holloway played a ball to Adrian Gomez who beat the keeper one on one to push the Argos' lead to its final, 2-0.
The Argos outshot the Lions during the matchup, 17-12. The Argos also garnered seven saves and led in corner shots, 8-3.
