Eagles Continue with Their Third Consecutive Shutout
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University women’s soccer (5-6, 4-1 CCC) continues strong with their third consecutive shutout beating Evergreen 6-0.
The Eagles started out early when Whitney Weaver scored from 8 yards out with a shot to the left hand corner in the third minute. Evergreen held tough for the next 33 minutes until, Olivia Morris scored to extend the Eagles lead 2-0.
Northwest University held a comfortable lead 3-0 at half time. In the 73
rd minute, the Eagles had another spark of offense when Katie Michkiosky scored from 12 yards out. Michkiosky returned just 36 seconds later to put the ball in the back of the net from 17 yards out. Rylee Rassier finished it up for the Eagles with moving the lead to 6-0 in 85
th minute.
Northwest head coach Bryan Chud recapped the game by saying, “we got the result we were after today. I’m pleased with the work rate and our overall play, although we were a bit sloppy at times. We have set ourselves up good for the rest of the season, and we’ll be turning our attention to Eastern Oregon now!”
