KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Haley Janky scored twice to lead Oregon Tech (6-2-2, 3-1-1 CCC) to a 3-0 Cascade Conference win over Northwest Christian University (2-7-1, 1-3-1 CCC) Sunday on the OIT Soccer Field.
"Persistence was the key to today," said Tech Head Coach
Brandon Porter. "We made some minor adjustments to limit what NCU got to see in terms of time on the ball and then just let our system work and our players make plays. Our ladies have a good understanding of what will allow us to find success, and we are finding the back of the net. A great weekend for the team as we hit the road coming up."
Janky gave OIT an early 1-0 lead as she put back a deflection into the bottom right corner from 15 yard out in the 21
st minute.
Junior Kylie Cowell gave the Owls a 2-0 lead in the 50
th minute heading in a Karah McCulley Free Kick into the top right of the goal.
Cowell set up Janky for her second goal of the day and sixth of the year in the 62
nd as she scored from just inside the box.
Oregon Tech dominated play and possession as they held a 17-2 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in shots on goal.
Up next, OIT will head to Portland, Oregon for games at Warner Pacific and Multnomah Friday and Saturday respectively.
