SOU Tops Evergreen, Ends Three-Game Losing Streak
Visiting Southern Oregon ended a three-game losing streak with a 107-76 Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball win over the Evergreen Geoducks on Friday night inside Costantino Recreation Center.
Tate Hoffman scored 18 points off the bench to lead six players in double figures for the Raiders (14-7 overall, 4-6 CCC), whose three straight losses had come on their home court.
Ryan Quigley scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures for the Geoducks (5-13, 1-9).
Southern Oregon scored the first five points of the game and never trailed, taking a 63-38 advantage at the half and leading by as many as 36 points midway through the second half before settling for the 31-point win.
Quigley hit his first eight shots from the field, the first seven in the opening half, in scoring his 17 points. Joining Quigley in double figures were Malik Redmond with 13, Brandon Kohler with 12, Elijah Fuller with 11 and Jared Roffler with 10. Fuller led the Geoducks with six rebounds and five assists.
The Geoducks, who shot 57.1 percent in the first half, cooled off in the final 20 minutes and finished at 47.7 percent (31-for-65).
Hoffman scored his 18 points in just 17 minutes of action, and he was one of 14 Raiders to see playing time, with no one playing more than 25 minutes. In all, 13 different SOU players tallied points and rebounds.
Rounding out the double-figure scorers for the visitors were Jordan Hunt with 14, Teron Bradford with 12, Tristen Holmes with 11 and both Brad Allen and Aaron Borich with 10. Holmes led all players with seven assists and Allen grabbed six rebounds to lead his team to a 40-33 advantage in that statistic.
The Raiders shot 54.9 percent overall (39-for-71), 47.1 percent (16-for-34) from three-point range and finished with 29 assists on their 39 made field goals.
Both teams play tomorrow night, the Geoducks hosting Oregon Tech and the Raiders facing Northwest University in Kirkland.
