The quarterfinal round of the sixth annual Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Mascot Challenge begins today, with four head-to-head matchups slated to take place in as many days to determine which institutional icons will advance to the semifinals.
CCC Mascot Challenge Quarterfinals Begin Today
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The quarterfinal round of the sixth annual Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Mascot Challenge begins today, with four head-to-head matchups slated to take place in as many days to determine which institutional icons will advance to the semifinals.
The remainder of the challenge will take place via this single-elimination format, with each of the remaining eight school mascots being seeded based on their total number of votes in the previous round. Polls featuring the mascot matchup of the day will be featured on both the CCC Twitter (@cccsports) and the CCC Instagram (@cascadeconference) story, with the combined total of votes received on both social media platforms determining who will advance to the final four.
The quarterfinal bouts will begin today, kicking off with No. 2-seeded Cadmar the Warrior (Corban) taking on No. 7-seeded Swoops the Eagle (Northwest). Here are each of this week’s head-to-head matchups:
Jan. 21 (2 vs. 7) – Cadmar (Corban) vs. Swoops (Northwest)
Jan. 22 (3 vs. 6) – Monty (Eastern Oregon) vs. Wally (Walla Walla)
Jan. 23 (1 vs. 8) – Hootie (Oregon Tech) vs. Mr. Beacon (Northwest Christian)
Jan. 24 (4 vs. 5) – Yote (College of Idaho) vs. Speedy Q (Evergreen)
Voting for each matchup will open at 10 a.m. PST, and close at the same time on the next day.

Jan. 16: Voting opens (top-eight advance to quarterfinals) at 8 a.m. PST
Jan. 17: Voting closes for round one at 8 a.m. PST
The top-eight will be announced on January 17.
