LA GRANDE, Ore. - The No. 10 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team defeated the College of Idaho (9-11, 7-7 CCC) 80-66 victory in Quinn Coliseum in the I-84 rivalry game on Tuesday night.

This is the Mountaineers' 18th win in a row, improving their record to 18-2 overall while remaining undefeated in conference at 12-0. The Eastern Oregon women have proven time and time again that they are pushing the league to compete with them and continue their journey on their way to postseason success.

Senior Maya Ah You Dias led the offense with a career-high 32 points, adding seven rebounds in 33 minutes played. The senior shot 11-for-16 from the field, eclipsing her previous career high of 31 points, which she had accomplished three times, against C of I, which is located close to her hometown of Middleton, Idaho.

Junior guard Jane Nelson had a double-double, adding 15 points and 10 rebounds of her own. Senior guard Maren Herrud had 12 points, freshman guard Beverly Slater had 11 points and six rebounds, and junior guard Kylie Smith had seven points and four rebounds. Despite starting off slow and having 25 turnovers, the Mountaineer's went 28-for-58 on field goals and 8-for-23 from beyond the arc.

In the first quarter, EOU found themselves trailing early as the Yotes were off to a hot start. Going 3-for-4 from behind the arc and 12-for-28 from the field, the Yotes were pushing the Moutaineers, ending the first quarter with a three to make the score 21-15. This was the most points that the EOU women's basketball team has been down to an opponent in the first quarter this season.

However, the Mountaineers' sense of urgency kicked in gear in the second half as they started to control the game. Scoring on back-to-back three-pointers by Herrud and Ah You Dias the score was now 25-21 in favor of the Yotes. The next eight points were all Ah You Dias, scoring off free throws and jump shots to put the Mountaineers back on top at 29-25. Continuing this run Herrud, Nelson, and junior guard Emma Logan all put up points throughout the rest of the quarter with the first half ending in a three by Nelson, giving EOU a 39-30 lead. EOU outscored C of I 24-9 in the quarter.

The third quarter was also dominated by the Mountaineers and the game began to slip away from the Yotes. Converting on 10-of -7 field goals, EOU was pushing the lead further and further, making it 66-48 by the end of the quarter. As the final quarter was coming to an end, the Yotes fought back, coming within 11 points at 66-55 and then within ten points at 68-58. That would be C of I's last push before the game ended at 80-66.  EOU's final points came on a three pointer by Smith.

Leading C of I was Mackenzie Royce with 15 points and four assists. Emily Harwood scored 10 while Kaylee Krusemark and Alyssa Case had nine points each. Case also had four steals.
