Semifinal Field Finalized for CCC Mascot Challenge
LA GRANDE, Ore. – After a week of hotly-contested battles in the quarterfinal round, four mascots remain in this year’s Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Mascot Challenge. The remaining four institutional icons—Hootie the Owl, Yote the Coyote, Cadmar the Warrior, and Monty the Mountaineer—will now be re-seeded (based upon total votes garnered this week) and paired up in battles determining who will advance to the championship.
Garnering the highest total vote count, and earning the No. 1 seed for the upcoming semifinals, is Eastern Oregon’s Monty the Mountaineer. The College of Idaho Yote came in a close second in total votes, landing at No. 2 in the upcoming seeding. Cadmar the Warrior from Corban (No. 3) and defending-champion Hootie the Owl from Oregon Tech (No. 4) round out the final two spots.
Taking place next Tuesday and Wednesday, polls featuring the mascot bout of the day will be featured on both the CCC Twitter (@cccsports) and the CCC Instagram (@cascadeconference) story, with the combined total of votes received on both social media platforms determining who will advance to the title battle.
