No. 14 Mountaineers Rout Evergreen 101-55 for 12th-Straight 1/4/2019 11:23:09 PM LA GRANDE, Ore. – Playing at home for the first time in 2019 and nearly a month, the No. 14 Eastern Oregon women’s basketball team put on a show for the home crowd, crushing Evergreen 101-55 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers (12-2, 6-0 CCC) scored a season-high 101 points, eclipsing the century mark for the first time in 14 games. The win also gives EOU a 12-game winning streak, dating back to Nov. 10 after a 0-2 start. Senior Maya Ah You Dias has been on fire since her return to the court less than a month ago. The senior posted her fourth double-double in five games this year, dropping 20 points with 11 rebounds. Ah You Dias eclipsed the 500-rebound mark for her career, now sitting at 505. She shot 7-for-10 from the field and made 3-of-5 three’s. Adding to an all-around incredible offensive performance in which EOU made 47 percent of their shots and 16 three-pointers, junior Jane Nelson had 18 points in just 18 minutes. Nelson made 7-of-13 shots and drained four three pointers. Junior Madison Crews also reached double digits with 11 points, adding a game-high seven assists. Four other players had eight or more points including freshman Beverly Slater, senior Maren Herrud and juniors Emma Logan and Whitney Meier. Slater added seven rebounds while Logan posted eight boards and three assists. The Mounties got 41 points from their bench on the night, showing depth in a blowout win. Evergreen (0-12, 0-8 CCC) attempted to keep pace with EOU’s high-powered offense, scoring 35 points in the first half while shooting over 40 percent. However, the EOU defense proved tough in the second half, limiting the Geoducks to 16 percent from the field and just 20 points. The Geoducks had a trio of players with 14 points in Angela Sikora, Anna Cook and Alexcis Higginbotham. Cook added nine rebounds while Merrily Jones had boards. The win for the Mountaineers gives them 36-straight CCC regular season victories and 42-straight against conference opponents. EOU also kept its home winning streak intact, reaching 35 in a row.
