CALDWELL, Idaho – Draining four-straight 3-point attempts in the opening three minutes of play, the College of Idaho opened a quick 16-4 lead and never looked back, as the Lady Yotes moved above the .500 mark with a convincing 89-71 victory over The Evergreen State College in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Alyssa Case scored 18 points, Jocelyn Cook-Cox had a career-high 13 rebounds and Mackenzie Royce flirted with a triple-double as the Yotes (8-7, 6-3 CCC) won their fourth-straight and notched their seventh victory in eight starts. C of I vaulted into a tie for fourth-place in the Cascade Conference standings.

The Yotes scored on their first five possessions – as Case and Madison Holly hit 3's and Cook-Cox converted a 3-point play. Royce splashed a triple, Holly added a corner trey and Case made a free throw, as the hosts took the 12-point advantage just 156 seconds into the game.

Leading 42-31 at the half, an Emily Harwell 3-pointer and a Case driving lay-up extended the margin to 56-37 with six minutes left in the third quarter. The Geoducks (0-13, 0-9) battled back, as Angela Sikora swished consecutive 3-pointers in a 10-point run to get the visitors within 56-47.

C of I put the game away early in the fourth quarter – with Makenna Schritter starting the rally with 3-point play, Hannah Maupin converted a short jumper and both Royce and Harwood scored on lay-ups, part of a 10-0 C of I run to surge the margin to 71-50.

Case finished the night a perfect 3-of-3 from outside the arc, as the Lady Yotes made 7-of-15 3-point attempts.  Harwood scored 16, Cook-Cox scored nine, with Royce ending the evening with 10 points, seven rebounds and a career-high nine assists.

The Coyote bench was key, outscoring TESC 29-0 – with Mackenzie Collins chipping in eight point and four assists, Schritter adding seven points and four boards and Kiersten Rasmussen scoring six points with five rebounds.

Sikora led all scorers with 28 points, with Deidra Miller adding 17 and Anna Cook scoring 15 in the loss. The Geoducks made 43-percent of their field goal attempts, but were outrebounded 49-28 by the Yotes – including a 20-5 deficit on the offensive glass.

The Yotes return to action next weekend in Portland, meeting Warner Pacific and Multnomah.
