ATHERTON, Calif. – Senior Mhar Caballa continues to crush the competition.

Just a month after winning the Battle of the Rockies, Caballa won his second tournament of the season by taking down the 125-pound weight class at the Menlo Open. The No. 4-ranked wrestler in the NAIA in his weight class, Caballa went 4-0 to earn his team 22 points and a fourth place finish among 13 teams.

Caballa began his day with a first round pin of Life Pacific’s Bobby Pinto in the second round. He then won back-to-back decisions over Alex Ursua of Warner Pacific and Riley Siason of Menlo to advance to the finals. The championship bout, Caballa narrowly defeated unattached wrestler Eric Sanchez by a 4-3 score to claim the tourney crown.

The No. 20 Mountaineers also had three other wrestlers place at the tournament including No. 13-ranked junior Blake McNall, Ryan Ninman and No. 4-ranked senior Drake Randall.
