The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period December 31-January 6.
Men’s Basketball
Eastern Oregon’s Jordan May has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s basketball Player of the Week.
May has proven himself to be one of the CCC’s most gifted scorers throughout the 2018-19 season, and his performances this week showed he has no signs of slowing down. The sophomore guard averaged 30 points in a couple of home wins, shooting at an impressive 55.8% mark from the floor and going 8-for-17 from beyond the arc. A playmaker in multiple facets, May also averaged seven boards, while tallying a total of three blocks and five steals.

Women’s Basketball
Maya Ah You Dias of Eastern Oregon has been selected as the Red Lion women’s basketball Player of the Week.
Ah You Dias has been red-hot for the Mountaineers since her return in mid-December, posting two more double-doubles over the week to make it five double-doubles in her first six games. In a pair of victories, the senior guard averaged 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds while shooting 67.9% from the floor and 66.7% from downtown, helping No. 14 Eastern Oregon win its 12th and 13th-straight games.

Men’s Wrestling
Anthony Orozco of Menlo has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Orozco, a junior out of Murrieta, Calif., received Outstanding Heavyweight Wrestler honors at the Menlo Open by going a perfect 4-0, which included a trio of wins against NCAA opponents. Orozco received a bye and an injury default victory in the 184 lb. bracket before earning a pair of wins to advance to the championship match against Justin Pichedwatana of San Francisco State. The match went to overtime, but Orozco earned the triumph with a late takedown in the first overtime period for the 5-3 win. Orozco has now won a bracket three times on the season, and is 16-1 as the No. 2-ranked ranked wrestler in the NAIA.
