Hustlin’ Owls Fall to Yotes

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –College of Idaho scored a goal in each half to take down Oregon Tech 2-1 in a Cascade Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the OIT Soccer Field.
 
The Yotes (5-5-0, 3-4-0 CCC) started out strong offensively, making two shots and the first goal of the game before the Owls (7-3-2, 4-3-0 CCC) had a shot of their own.
 
Tech picked up their own offensive and tied the score with a goal from junior Noah Pham, which held through the first period. However, COI's Jack O'Leary scored the final goal in the middle of the second, bringing the team to victory.
 
Pham led the Hustlin' Owls with five shots, with senior Daniel Blessinger adding another two. Overall, OIT tallied nine shots, of which three were on target.
 
Ben Bechor took five shots for the Yotes and earned one assist. Bekir Cinac added two more shots and O'Leary and Ahmet Huremovic each scored on their only shot.
 
The College of Idaho made 10 shots over the course of the game – only one more than Tech – but five of those were on target.
 
The Hustlin' Owls will hit the road next weekend to take on Northwest Christian University on Friday at 3:00pm in Eugene and Corban University on Saturday at 12:30pm in Salem before returning to Klamath Falls to take on Multnomah and Warner Pacific University, with games taking place at the OIT Soccer Field at 2:30pm on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26 respectively.
