Eugene, Ore. - Oregon Tech continued their undefeated streak in Cascade Collegiate Conference play as they claimed a 2-0 victory over the Beacons on Friday afternoon.
The Owls (8-2-3, 5-0-2 CCC) were led by two goals from Senior Salyna Blue and Freshman Maddie Miller in back to back minutes of the first half. OIT outshot the Beacons 36-2 and held a 10-1 edge in shots on goal.
Kara Mathison led the Beacons (2-12, 1-8) with one shot on goal while Senior Goalkeeper Katie Hastings had eight saves in the loss.
Following the loss head coach Benny Flores stated, "I am really proud of how hard the ladies played today. OIT is a great team, they have had success all season long. When things are not going good you will see the character of a player and these young ladies do not have an ounce of quit in them. We are still trying to get better every day. I know two things: the sun will come up tomorrow and this team will up to battle tomorrow."
The Beacons will be back in play Saturday as they take on Southern Oregon at the Les Schwab Sports Park at 3pm.
