SALEM, Ore. – In the squad's first game of the season at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center, the (RV) Corban University men's basketball team fired on all cylinders in its matchup with Thompson Rivers University. The Warriors downed the Wolfpack by a final score of 80-51.

"It was nice to see our guys bounce back and compete tonight after a tough loss earlier in the week," said head coach Mitch Freeman. "We are still trying to mesh as a team with so many new players in the program. In the second half, we were much better on both ends of the floor in connecting with each other."

The majority of the first half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams struggling to pull away. Corban closed out the half with a 5-0 run, taking a 37-31 advantage into the locker room.

That momentum continued after the break, with the Warriors shooting a stellar 59.1% from the field in the game's latter half. More impressive still was the squad's precision from beyond the arc, with Corban going 7-of-11 from three-point range.

The Warriors outscored the Wolfpack 43-20 in the second half.

Beau Roggenbach provided an impressive performance in the triumph, something Warrior fans have become accustomed to. Roggenbach finished with 20 points and seven boards, both of which led all performers.

"Beau was fantastic in the second half!" added Freeman on his veteran leader.

Playing for the first time in front of the Corban home crowd, Elijah Welch (10 points) ended the night as the only other Warrior in double figures.

In total, eight members of the Navy and Gold—Roggenbach, Welch, Jake Estep, Tyler Wadleigh, AJ Hodges, Dominique Lawrence, Mike Seng, and Domen Omladic—finished with at least six points, a testimony to the team's offensive depth.

The Warriors (1-1) will return to the court tomorrow afternoon for the back half of their weekend doubleheader, hosting Camosun College at 4 p.m. at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
