Knights Blow Past Keelhaulers in Season Opener

Redding, Ca. | Warner Pacific started the 2019-20 with an 86-35 victory over Cal-State Maritime in Redding on Friday afternoon.
 
The Knights shot 53.6% on the day and 55.6% from behind the arc and managed to only miss 5 free-throws.
 
Warner Pacific managed to hold the Keelhaulers to 8 points in the first quarter and 12 in the second, heading into the break, the Knights had a 47-21 lead over CSUM.
 
Not only was the Knights' offense impressive, but their defense sure showed up to play managing to snag 16 steals and score 41 points off of turnovers.
 
The Knights were led by Junior Gabriella Bruno with 28 points. Payton Whitmore had 18 points and 5 assists off the bench.
 
"Our defense was really solid" said Knights Head Coach Matt Gregg, "We flew around in our press and half court D, which converted into half of our points coming off of turnovers".
 
The Knights will be in Redding through Saturday as they play Simpson University at 7pm.
