LA GRANDE Ore.- Determined to shake off yesterday's loss to first place Northwest, the Eastern Oregon women's soccer team made sure to finish their chances, coming away with a 3-0 win over Evergreen State Saturday evening in CCC play.
EOU dominated the 90 minutes, out shooting their opponent 20-7 with eight of them on goal. It only took 19 minutes for the Mountaineers to find the back of the net. Nan Kiebert sent in a corner to the near post and Mackinley Gregus slipped it past goal keeper Colbi Stewart.
In the second half, the Mounties added two goals in eight minutes. Capitalizing on a poor defensive clearance, Anna Hager first time hit the ball over the keepers head 20 yards out to score her first goal as a Mountaineer.
Minutes later Morgan Farrington drove up the line playing a square ball across to Erika Skindlov, who drilled in it in off the cross bar.
Savannah Hutchinson and Cydni Cottrell combined for a shutout and Hutchinson had a crucial save at the end of the game to keep the clean sheet.
The team will be home for the final games of the regular season Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 to play Warner Pacific and Multnomah at Community Stadium.
