Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Oct. 20-26.
Volleyball - Attacker
No. 3-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Megan Bunn was named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the third time this year.
Bunn, a six-foot senior middle from Banks, Ore., led the Mountaineers to their 13
th- and 14
th-straight wins. On Friday, she tied a career high with 22 kills in the four-set victory over Northwest University. She was also one off her career high in digs with 25 in an all-around great performance for the All-American. Against The Evergreen State College, Bunn had 15 more kills, grabbing another double-double with 12 digs.
Honorable mention: Taylor Ristvedt, SOU
Volleyball - Defender
Northwest University’s Kylie Szczepanski was named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week.
A 6-foot-1 senior middle blocker from Bloomington, Calif., Szczepanski came up big at the net for the Eagles, posting 13 blocks over two matches. She averaged almost two blocks (1.63) per set to help NU split with two ranked teams.

Volleyball - Setter
No. 3-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Madison Pilon was named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week, her fifth honor of the year.
The 5-foot-11 junior setter from Olympia, Wash., Pilon had a career-high of 50 assists in the four-set win over NU, adding 10 digs and four block assists. She followed with 35 assists in the sweep of Evergreen, leading the Mountaineers to their 14th-straight win.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive
Rocky Mountain College’s Maia Wetzel was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-8 junior goalkeeper from Billings, Mont., recorded her eighth and ninth shutouts of the season over the weekend, breaking Rocky’s single-season shutout record in the process. Wetzel made four saves in each game to help the Battlin’ Bears go 2-0 on the week.

Women’s Soccer - Offensive
Southern Oregon University’s Sarah Mauk was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Mauk, a 5-foot-7 forward from Hillsboro, Ore., became the first Raider with a five-point game since 2015 on Sunday against Multnomah University after scoring twice and assisting on another. She also had a goal against Warner Pacific University and has now tallied all four of her goals on the season in SOU's last three games.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Erik Mattice was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Mattice, 5-foot-10 junior defender from Folsom, Calif., scored the thrilling game-winner in a 3-2 win over Evergreen on Saturday from the defender position. Taking most of the team's free kicks and corners, Mattice set up for a free kick 35 yards out, with just over two minutes to play in a 2-2 tie. The junior laced the free kick into the top-right corner of the net for the game-winner. He also had two assists on the weekend.

Men’s Soccer - Offensive
Corban University’s Allando Brown was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Brown, 5-foot-10 junior defender from Kingston, Jamaica, was the difference maker in No. 19-ranked Corban's 3-2 victory over NCU, scoring two goals in the game, including the decisive goal. Brown delivered the game-winner in the 70th minute to help the Warriors stay undefeated on the season.

Men’s Cross Country – Runner
Northwest University’s Riley Sine was named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this year.
A senior from Spokane, Wash., Sine took second place individually at the Warrior Invitational out of 135 runners. He finished the 8K in a time of 24 minutes, 29 seconds.

Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 10-ranked Oregon Tech’s Delani Dietrich was named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., was the first collegiate (and top CCC finisher) at the Warrior Invitational, taking third overall. She ran a personal-best time of 18 minutes flat, which set an OIT freshman record on that course.

Men’s Golf – Golfer
Northwest Christian University’s Andrew Schwarz was named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
A senior from Twin Falls, Idaho, Schwarz was the top CCC golfer, taking fifth at the NCU Fall Invitational out of 43 golfers. He finished behind three golfers from Oregon State with scores of 72 and 70.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Corban University’s Kelly Dunn was named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
The freshman from Midlothian, Tex., put the finishing touches on one of Corban's most impressive fall campaigns by a freshman in program history. Dunn shot a 16-over-160 at the NCU Fall Invite over the weekend, earning her a fifth-place finish overall. She now has three top-five finishes in her first five collegiate tournaments.

Men’s Basketball – Player
Walla Walla University’s Zayne Browning was named the first Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Browning, a 6-foot-4 junior forward from Bozeman, Mont., set a career high in the first game of the season with 32 points. He followed it up with a CCC scoring record and tied the WWU school record with 38 points the following night, including a 24-point second-half performance. His 12 made free throws were also a career high and school record.

Women’s Basketball – Player
College of Idaho’s Mackenzie Royce-Radford was named the first Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-8 senior guard from Middleton, Idaho, led the Yotes in scoring in two of their first three games. She opened the season with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting in a battle at No. 7-ranked Carroll College. She followed with a 14-point (5-for-11) performance to against Montana Western and nine points at Montana Tech – both teams are receiving votes in the preseason NAIA Coaches’ Poll.
